Lerea Graham’s Journey to Leadership in the Automotive Industry

In honor of Black History Month, WOCAN is proud to highlight incredible women in automotive who are paving the way for future leaders. Meet Lerea Graham, the General Manager at Hello Mazda of Valencia, whose journey into the industry is a testament to the power of perseverance, preparation, and purpose.

A Career Fueled by Passion and Performance

Lerea’s path to automotive leadership was anything but conventional. With 15 years of experience in hospitality and customer service, she sought a new challenge—an industry where she could leverage her competitive spirit and professional acting background while building a long-term career.

Taking a leap of faith, she applied for a car sales position. Her strong impression on leadership quickly propelled her through the ranks—from top salesperson to finance manager, then corporate trainer, and now General Manager at Hello Mazda of Valencia. Her growth in the industry was made possible by mentors who saw her potential, but more importantly, by her relentless drive to excel.

“I was chosen for this role because I was the best candidate for the job. My journey is a testament to the power of preparation, performance, and the right mindset in seizing opportunities.”

Overcoming Challenges & Leading with Results

As a Black woman in the automotive industry, Lerea acknowledges the competitive nature of the business. However, instead of focusing on challenges, she has always approached her career with a solution-oriented mindset.

“I’ve built my success by surrounding myself with a strong support system—mentors, colleagues, family, and a team that aligns with my vision. By staying focused on performance, results, and leadership, I’ve been able to navigate challenges and earn my place at the table.”

Her advice for women, especially women of color, looking to break into automotive? Know your business, own your voice, and be relentless in your pursuit of excellence.

“Success in automotive—or any industry—comes down to preparation, confidence, and consistency. Surround yourself with people who push you to be better, and don’t be afraid to take up space.”

A Legacy of Leadership & Excellence

Lerea’s leadership philosophy is rooted in building high-performing teams and setting a standard for excellence in the industry. She aims to inspire the next generation to focus on strategies for success rather than barriers to entry.

“If my journey inspires others to pursue leadership roles with confidence and clarity, then I’ve done my job.”

As we celebrate Black History Month, WOCAN honors trailblazers like Lerea Graham, who are shaping the future of the automotive industry—one opportunity, one team, and one success at a time.
