Jenell Ross: A Legacy of Leadership in Automotive
This Black History Month, we proudly highlight Jenell Ross, a leader whose resilience and vision have redefined excellence in the automotive industry. As the President of Bob Ross Auto Group, Jenell celebrates 50 years at the helm of the nation’s only Black woman-owned Buick, GMC, and Mercedes-Benz dealership, a legacy that began with her father, Robert P. Ross Sr., in 1974. Through her leadership, Jenell has expanded the dealership’s success while upholding her family’s values and legacy.
Her achievements and contributions to the industry are nothing short of inspiring:
First African American Chair of AIADA (American International Automobile Dealers Association) in 2013 Named one of Automotive News’ Top 100 Leading Women in North America in 2020
Recipient of the WOCAN Pinnacle Award in 2024
Advocates for breast cancer awareness and prevention through her dealership's community outreach.
In her 2024 interview with CBT’s "Women Driving the Industry," Jenell reflected on the challenges she’s faced as an African American woman in a male-dominated field and the importance of mentorship and generational leadership.
Her story is one of resilience, community impact, and trailblazing innovation—a testament to what’s possible when values and vision meet perseverance.
