Women of Color Automotive Network was founded to attract, support, connect and empower women of color in the automotive industry.
WHY WOCAN
The automotive industry has always represented a significant opportunity for financial wealth, career advancement, and entrepreneurship. Yet, there is low representation of women of color in the auto industry. In fact, while women of color represent 18% of the U.S. workforce, they only represent 6% of the automotive industry, with very few holding leadership positions.
Diversity is a business decision and attracting and retaining women of color in the automotive industry presents a unique opportunity and competitive advantage.
Women of color sit at the intersection of race and gender, and enable the industry to better serve two important consumer segments, women and multicultural consumers. These segments are influential, have significant purchase power and are growing in size.
Women of Color Automotive Network is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization who serves women of color in the automotive industry. We seek to offer a safe and empowering space for women of color to share their experiences, find support in their careers, and obtain resources on personal and leadership development.
