Unlock the Power of Diversity and Inclusion
WOCAN and our allies are proud to join Dr. Aubrey Franklin as we discuss bias in hiring in automotive and how to increase diversity in your workforce to better serve today’s customer needs and align with their values.
“The benefits of a diversified workforce are apparent, as a larger talent pool and better customer service emerge; however, women currently remain underrepresented in automotive retailing and it is even more egregious with women of color," Brian Bastin, Automotive Dealership Management Program Director at Keiser University.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are over 1.2 million people employed at franchised automobile dealerships and women of color represent only 6% of the automotive industry, with very few holding leadership positions.
During this webinar Brian and Dr. Aubrey Franklin, Psychology Program Director at Keiser University, will share insights relating to automotive industry hiring opportunities, selection, and retention of women of color as well how to provide professional education and development. In addition, you will learn the benefits of diversity and what inclusion looks like in a practical way.
In this workshop you will learn
How to create a reasonable pool of qualified candidates from various backgrounds.
How to garner interest from women of color and other people of color to join your business.
How to develop job descriptions and placement ads that work to attract women of color and other under represented groups to your business.
Where to recruit people of color, including women.
